For nine years I had my photography studio in Rocky River and it was great to have that space to start up my business. But, I have to say, that I have always really loved going out on location. It’s like an adventure for me. Finding the light and the space in which to capture these moments is fun and challenging and it makes every session unique. This Westlake family has the perfect house to shoot pictures. Lots of great spots to shoot at and beautiful light everywhere!

Isn’t he the cutest little guy?! I get to meet the coolest people on my photo adventures and this Rocky River family was no exception. I’ve had the best sessions lately. Lots of new beautiful babies so I’m trying to get back on this blogging ball here so I can share some!

I’ll give you one guess what this baby doll’s name is. What a total cutie and completely in love with her Mom and Dad. I think the feelings were mutual!

Isn’t he a total doll (or a koukla as we say in Greek)! This little guy just got back from spending the summer in Crete, Greece (his Dad’s home town). He’s so young to be a world traveler. His Mom said that he did great on the trip. What a trooper! 

Okay, I don’t recommend shooting at nap time but in this case it worked out. Sometimes you just can’t predict their schedule and you just have to roll with it. This little guy was so tired but he didn’t stand a chance. Between me and his Mom and Dad we had him so entertained that there was no time for any crabbiness. We sang, swung and swam (well, he swam, we just got our feet wet). Poor Dad ran up and down the stairs to keep the happiness going. Well done gang! We have some adorable shots that were totally worth our efforts!

This beautiful baby girl was so smiley! It was a pleasure to work with this Rocky River family again. Big sister was keeping Mom and Grandma busy while I was photographing the new baby. I remember having a two year old and a newborn baby at home. I’m exhausted just thinking about it!

Hey, remember the father/daughter from a few posts back? Well here’s the newest addition to the family. We even got Mom in a few shots too! Isn’t he such a peanut?! He was just nine days old and super sleepy!

Yep, another one year old! I told you they are so excited about everything. Balls, squirrels, doggies…everything is a doggie, including the squirrels. Hilarious! You just can’t help but smile. I couldn’t resist proofing these shots in color (although they look awesome in black-and-white too). It’s just so summery. This little baby doll is the youngest of four children. I’ve been photographing this family since the oldest was just a wee babe herself. There are lots and lots of great shots. Can’t wait to show you guys!

It seems I’m photographing a lot of one year olds lately. I love it! It’s such a fun age. They are so excited about everything! I worked with this family a few years ago and now they have one more addition to the family. I was thrilled to document this little guys first birthday and while I was at it I got a few shots of the rest of the family.

I just want to give everyone a heads up that the summer is just about booked up and we’re looking at the holiday/fall season. YES, I said the dreaded “H” word! It’s coming weather we like it or not. More to come about the holiday shooting season which is September and October. I beg of you, if you want holiday cards and prints, book your session now as the fall months book up VERY quickly! In a blink of an eye, school will be starting and then it will be Halloween and THEN you know what… It creeps up on me every year!

With so much going on this summer I’ve fallen way behind on my blog posting. Maybe I’ll catch up this weekend!

I thought this family would be the perfect 4^th of July post. Very “All American” and as sweet as apple pie! I can’t believe that I’ve been photographing families in this city for over 10 years and I’ve never shot pictures down at the Cleveland Yachting Club. I loved it! I’ll definitely go down there again.

I was this Dad’s Father’s Day present. He didn’t know he was taking photos with his little girl until I showed up, camera in hand. I’ve never done a surprise photo session before (just a FYI, a husband should NEVER spring a photo session on this wife)! This baby girl is going to be a big sister in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait to meet the new member of the family!

A Dad is someone who drives from his job in Solon all the way to Rocky River to pop into a few photos with “his girls” and then drives all the way back to work. This family was so totally adorable and, as you can tell, this little girl rocked the photo shoot! Fun stuff!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!

That’s the only word that I could come up with to describe these three little…hams!! Three kids, a wagon and the beach = sand eating fun. Unfortunately, that’s what the little one decided to try. She took a big fistful of sand, and much to our horror, she stuck it right into her mouth. I wish I could say it was the first time I’ve seen a baby try this maneuver but it wasn’t! I got lots of awesome close-up shots of all three but I couldn’t resist posting some of the non-sand eating fun beach shots.
