How far in advance should I schedule my session?
To ensure a desired level of quality I limit the amount of sessions I take per month. I am typically booked at least 1-2 months in advance.
If you would like newborn pictures, please call me before the baby is born so that I may set some time aside for you. I try to photograph newborns when they are two weeks old or younger.
What is the time frame for receiving my portraits?
After the shoot, each photograph is hand-edited and carefully processed. Approximately 2 weeks after your photo session the proofs will be ready for viewing. Once your order is placed the enlargements take between 4-6 weeks.
Do you bring any props?
I have many props for newborns that I will bring, so please don’t worry about props for these sessions. For babies, toddlers, and older children I encourage my clients to bring their own props to personalize the images.
My child just got a cut on his forehead! Can I reschedule my session?
There’s no need to worry. This is one of the benefits of custom photography! I retouch every image and am able to remove most blemishes.
What can I do to make sure my children are happy for the session?
There is no need to worry if your child isn’t giddy for me right away. I am very good with children so if you give me some space and time, I will most likely be able to get those great expressions from your children that you love so much.
Do you offer birth announcements and/or holiday cards?
Yes! We offer beautiful, custom designed and printed cards.
Do you do weddings or engagement pictures?
Sorry, no.
My extended family would like a large group portrait, do you work with large groups?
I prefer photographing children and immediate families only. Large groups tend to require mostly “posed” shots, which is not my style. A wedding or special events photographer should be contacted for this type of portrait.
Do you offer gift certificates?
The purchase of a gift certificate is a very generous gesture. To ensure the recipient is fully able to appreciate the gift of a custom portrait session, I offer gift certificates with a starting value of $250*. This ensures the recipient a gift that will not only cover the cost of the session fee, but allow them to purchase a selection of prints to enjoy long after the event.
*Gift Certificates are available for the cost of the session fee only if the person purchasing the certificate will be a part of the session and be involved in the ordering process after the session is complete (such as a husband gifting his wife).
What does the sitting fee cover? Will I get digital images?
Your session fee includes: An initial consultation either by phone or email to discuss possible locations, clothing choices and to answer any questions that you may have.
The photographer’s time, talent and her 25 years of experience working with children.
A variety of individual and/or family images (immediate family only) on the day of your session.
Touch-ups and meticulously attention to each image. All images are enhanced using the latest version of Photoshop to ensure that your prints will be stunning!
25-40 images presented in a private online gallery hosted for seven days from which you may purchase your images either a la carte or in a collection.
~~The session fee does not include images, either in digital or print format. All prints and collections are sold separately.
