Back from the Beach

I’m finally back in action after spending a week down in South Carolina with friends and family. Vacation was awesome (or, as my daughter would say, “fabulous”) and I hope we’ll do that trip again. And again. And maybe again.  It was very relaxing besides the shark encounter my son and I had while boogie boarding. Emmett thought it was “cool” that a shark came up so close. I, on the other hand, stayed out of the water the rest of the trip! But summer marches on, and we’re back to life as we know it. I’m gearing up for the crazy fall season. Please call or email me if you are interested in a holiday photo session. My fall schedule is already filling up!

Baby Girl

Oh my gosh! My baby girl is turning 4 years old today! It seems like yesterday that she was a sweet little newborn *sigh*. I had to include her newborn picture in the post. She is so funny and she keeps me laughing even when I’m down. She never stops asking questions (sometimes to the point of exhaustion). She’s very curious about everything. She loves music and wants to know all the words in the songs on the radio. And, at least for now, I seem to be her favorite person. I am blessed that she is so adoring. I have no idea what I did to deserve her loving admiration but I have to say that it’s the best feeling. I’m honored. Who knows what the story will be in ten years from now but at the moment I’m eating it up!

My Baby!

Today is my baby boy’s 6th birthday! He lost his first tooth last month and it was just another reminder that his babyhood is slipping away. Now more than ever I am appreciating my own photography. I was looking back at his sweet baby pictures. He was such a little cherub. It’s scary how you do forget what they looked like. When they’re babies you think that there is no way you could forget, but you do. The photographs bring it all back.

I’m so lucky to have this little guy. He’s funny, smart and kind (not always to his sister but you know how THAT goes). He is everything I could have hoped for in a child. My prayer is still the same for him today as it was the day he was born…please keep this child happy, healthy and safe and may he contribute something positive to this world. That’s all any mother can hope for.

Welcome to the blog!

Welcome! Thanks for visiting the Katherine Chambers Photography Blog! I hope this is a fun and informative forum for new and existing clients. I am a woman of few words so I’ll let the images speak for themselves. I encourage and look forward to your comments.

I thought it fitting that my very first web blog post should be about one of my own precious babes! Yes, I do occasionally photograph my own children (much to their dismay). Every time I pull out my camera at home they run screaming as if I were holding a big plate of steaming broccoli! I can occasionally threaten convince them (with bribes of cookies and tons and tons of candy) that yet another photo session with Mommy would be a fun idea. Having a Mom that’s a photographer isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be!

As a side note, I have started shooting First Communion portrait sessions so if you are interested please call me or email. Summer will be here before you know it. I swear. It will. Really!
