Dear Matthew’s Parents, The love you have for Matthew shows in every single image….parents like you make me me (and him) smile.

I finally got my blog back up and running! I’m still tweaking things so bear with me if all the bells and whistles don’t work yet.
Well, the holiday hubbub is finally over, the kids are back to school and I’m extremely content to be sitting here with my hot coffee and a quite house.
I am going to revel in this moment…..ahhh!

I also thought I’d share some images from this shoot I did recently. This smiley bundle of joy was a preemie which you’d never guess looking at him now.
I could just kiss and pinch those cheeks all day!

Where have I been you ask? I’ve been playing Santa and delivering a record number of holiday cards for Katherine Chambers Photography! Wow, it’s true, I’ve never done SO many holiday cards in all these years. It’s so fun to see my clients faces when they open their own holiday card. It makes me feel JOY to give that joy to someone else.

Ok…back to work for me. I leave you with the most precious little dolls…

This started out as a maternity session but this little guy had a different idea; he decided to come about 6 weeks early! I was so thrilled to meet his acquaintance. He had lots of friends that were keeping a close watch over him.

Okay, I’ll give you one guess where this family is from? Maybe the Texas A&M and Baylor logos gave it away! Mom and Dad came to a great compromise on his socks:)

Of all the lovely families I’ve been fortunate to work with this fall, this one is near and dear to my heart…

I have so many sweet and patient parents awaiting proofs of their little pumpkins! What on earth am I doing on this blog?…Excellent question!

The Littlest Details Mini Sessions were SO much fun! I can’t wait to share some with all of you. In the meantime…fashion inspiration.

I wasn’t exactly sure what to call this post. I wanted to show a portrait from the first photo session I did with this young lady waaaaaay back in 2002, when I believe she was 7 years old. But alas, I couldn’t get my film scanner up and running (yes people, I said FILM–Yikes!).  I’ve photographed this gorgeous girl and her sister many times over the last 9 years and I felt a bit sentimental over this shoot. She’s so grown-up and such a beauty!

It’s been a whirlwind of photography sessions for me this past month.  The summer weather won’t last long so the summer sessions are just about a wrap. Here comes the fall frenzy…followed by the holiday frenzy! Where does the time go?! We are almost completely booked up for the next couple of months. That’s enough of the chit chat, so lets move onto the cute baby! I will share this little peanut. I photographed her as a newborn last year.  Which you can see here. She was just a tiny preemie last time I saw her and now she’s toddling about and as sweet as ever.

Working with little kiddos I get to see all the amazing things that make childhood great. It’s such a brief period of time. I challenge you to not smile when you look at this little fella. It’s impossible! He was so funny and full of personality. He ran the gamut of expressions and moods; each just as adorable as the next. He has such a fabulous serious face too. I just wonder what going on in his mind, like “who’s this crazy chick with that clicky thing!”

Literally! Mamba Jamba is it hot out there!

I’m just getting ready to burn these to a disk and thought I’d share some images of this beautiful family. They were such troopers out there in the heat. Ultimately they rocked it out and were rewarded with ice cream!

By far and away this is the question I’m asked the most. Or where did you get the outfits in your gallery of…(insert description here)?  They were probably seven dollar purchases at Old Navy.  When I am cheating on Janie and Jack and Mini Boden, I like to shop there, especially since the clothes are PRACTICALLY FREE.

Now, I shall I answer your question?  Yes, I shall.

Outfits should coordinate but everyone should not wear the same thing. I like to think of it as one big outfit. The days of khaki and white are over (thank goodness)! Two girls can certainly wear the same dress, or buy matching pieces from the same line that go well together. Below is some inspiration for you!

Dear Mom and Dad,

“Thank you for loving me sooo much that you took me to Katherine Chambers to have my 1 year picture taken;)”

Just kidding! That’s just what I hope she’s says when she’s all grown up. Just think about when her Mom and Dad pull these out at her wedding!

Doesn’t she have a SEVERE case of cuteness?  This sweet one-year-old was beyond a joy to photograph.  Her smile was just infectious!

I love this stage….not all baby….but not yet big kid.  Crawling…walking…crawling…walking.  As a mother, I am thrilled to have been able to freeze this time for my client.

They don’t call it the sunshine state for nothing! I’ve been off working on some projects but I thought I’d post some shots from somewhere that is warm and sunny most of the time. It’s good to get away sometimes and gain some perspective on what’s really important.

At least that’s how these “chillaxed” parents made everything seem (yes, I just used that word!). Everything was very calm and there was a very tranquil vibe in this house. I think that shows on the peaceful little faces I met that day.
