Trick-or-Treat!

There’s nothing particularly Halloweeny about this family but I needed a reason to post some of their images. I’m way behind on proofing so the blog may fall behind a bit. I just couldn’t decide which images to post from this session. There were so many I loved! Such a great family. Super nice and fun to work with. Thanks again you guys! Happy Halloween!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Luckily we were able to get this photo session in just before the rain drops fell. Location photography can be challenging (especially in Cleveland!). I’m checking out some new locations since my old ones seem to be getting a little over populated. I’m always trying to keep my work fresh and original. Creative ingenuity and integrity is very important to me.

Love At First Sight

Sometimes it’s not always love at first sight! I’ve photographed these sweet kiddos before but this was the first time I’d met the baby. It took a little while for her to warm up to me. In fact she had her face buried in Mom’s shoulder for the first 20 minutes. “That’s okay” I reassured Mom “I’m very patient”. After baby “B” saw me and her older siblings playing and having a good time, she couldn’t resist. Of course we ended up on the playground with a hundred other kids but we made it work. Once all four were laughing and playing, mom said, “oh good, I didn’t want to do this unless it was going to be fun”. I agree, photo sessions should be fun and not a stressful event for parents or kids. Kids can definitely pick up on other people’s stress so I stay calm and patient. I want parents to relax, take a breath and know that it will be alright. Sometimes it just takes a little time to feel “the love”.

Birthday Suit!

Don’t you just love a baby in their birthday suit! Isn’t she just the cutest baby?! Okay, I’m a little bias since she is my first cousin once removed (someone very wise once explained this genealogy to me!). Can you believe she’s going to be a big sister this spring. Can’t wait to meet that little one! Can they win the baby lottery twice?

I also wanted to show how I can swap out colors in Photoshop. Another client asked me if I could match a color from one of my holiday card designs with her son’s shirt and I can (in most cases) change a color. Here’s a before and after for you. Also, yes, the holidays are coming and I’m working on holidays cards. Please, if you’d like holiday cards and we’ve done photos anytime over the past year I can use those to design a holiday card for you. Let me know asap! Thanks!

The Fall

The fall light and colors are so beautiful right now. I think fall has come a little early this year but I love shooting outside! I’ll be shooting like crazy for the next few weeks and I am in the home “shooting” stretch for the holidays. All holidays sessions must be completed by November 1st. Now if the rain would just give me a break I might actually get all this shooting done!

This post is about this adorable one year old baby boy. He happens to have the same birthday as my little sister (Hey Chris!) so that alone made me like him. Virgos must be sweet natured!
